Hi everyone,
I am currently working as Restaurant & Bar Manager in New Zealand. Since I do not have permanent residency, I have a work visa, which was approved due to the Restaurant & Bar Manager position being on the Immediate Skill Shortage List. (ANZSCO 141111)
I always thought that the skill shortage list for Australia and NZ would be the same, however, it seems that I was wrong in that. Does anybody know if the Restaurant Manager position is on the skill shortage list of Australia as well? I can only find Hotel and Motel Manager. Does this fall under the same category, or is this just for actual General Managers of Hotels?
I have 10 years experience in hospitality, a diploma from an European hotel management school. If I have a job offer as Food and Beverage Manager from a 5* hotel (internat. chain) in Sydney, under which visa category do I need to apply? Is there something like an accredited employer list?
I hope somebody can bring some light into my dark. I went through various immigration sites, but somehow I always come up with a different answer. As I have mentioned, I thought the immigration would be similar to NZ, but it looks like I was wrong.
Thanks,
Mr Hotel
