Keep the day job and build your referrals
You have to identify a source of income before you quit your day job. If you have no source, then every month you don't make money you go further into debt. Have you made a budget to identify your cost of living? If you have a freelance skill, you can make money through freelancing. Since you don't say what skills you have, not much anyone can suggest.
