Uni or no?
Was it worth it? Or did you waste your time?

Definitely worth it. I liked learning new things all the time. That doesn't come so easily when you have a job. Companies want to pay you to do what you already know how to do, not necessarily to learn something new.

I'm glad I did it, but I can't say what I learned has helped a lot. Having that piece of paper was important, though.

While I agree getting a degree is important, it is not entirely impossible to start working in the mining industry and save enough to retire while other people will be working on getting a degree.

Article in the paper here in Perth today - that the uni/TAFE are missing out on students because they can get such well paid jobs elsewhere.
I don't know that I would go to uni these days unless Iwas sure of what I wanted to achieve from it and that the job I got was going to be worth the expense

I was lucky I went in the days before big fees - I came out broke but not in debt - and had a ball! I would think 3x these days unless I was sure that I was going to get a wellpaying job I liked to pay off the debt

a higher education is always of benefit, and will make fidning a decent job much easier.
