University of the Sunshine Coast

Hello, I'm a 17 year old from Reno, Nevada, USA. I've always wanted to move to Australia and I was recently looking at colleges online and came across the University of the Sunshine Coast in Sippy Downs, Queensland. I looked around their website quite a bit and decided to apply. Well, it's been about two weeks now and I found out earlier today that I have been offered admission. I thought it would be wise to look into whether or not it has a good reputation and if it is a good school to attend rather than just packing my bags and getting myself in to who knows what. So, does anyone know of it is a good place to be?
Thanks in advance

Welcome to the forum Hurleyka,
Another of those days when you learn something new every day and nearly in my own backyard for I didn't even know we had a University of the Sunshine Coast.
It's not surprising though because the area has been undergoing a substantial poulation growth for a couple of decades now and it will only keep going.
Previously students would have had to travel to Brisbane and the University has now been established over ten years and any hiccups should have been ironed out. It is also one of the best areas in Australia to live climate wise and I would suspect that getting good staff would not be a problem and it will just strengthen in that regard as time goes on.
Australian Universities are run as businesses with minimal government funding and a lot of marketing overseas occurs and we get a lot of asian students and i would not think the Sunshine Uni will be any different in that refard and so the opportunity will exist to forge association with other cultures.
Great beaches are near byand if you have ever thought about taking up surfing or associated sports, you're in a prime place. Be a good move to join a Surf Life Saving Club if looking for social outlets other than what the Uni provides.
As for course quality, no reason to suspect it to be any less than other Unis.
