Lightbulb is this normal with vacuum flask?

Hi Guys,

not sure if you all have had experiences of buying vacuum flask, but i just bought a fairly cheap one from k-mart, beautiful design however it was not able to keep plain boiled water up to 7 hours warm(overnight). basically, the boiled water that I filled in the flask last night has gone ice-cold in the morning
is that normal? i mean, is that all a vacuum flask can do? only keep the water warm for less than 5 hours? i am not sure if the one i am having is broken but it definitely not doing a good job as i expected.
should i just exchange the product or buy an premium brand instead?
thanks

I can understand you wanting a better performance and some of the premium models may even have claimed performance, but expecting or needing overnight temperature hold is something I've never been too bothered with other than the opposite of using cooling to keep the esky contents cold.

Was there anything with the el cheapo model other than the made in china tag?, a claim to performance etc. and if so and suiting your expectation an exchange is something you could consider to see if another one does any better, but I'd raise that intent with the store people or otherwise just look for a better model.

hi Wanderer, you are right, it only says made in china, and the brand tag, but no performance guarantee. it's good looking though

Thanks Wanderer. i think i would just go to exchange it.
