I am in Beijing now and turned on the English news on CCTV. I thought the voice sounded familiar and saw that it was Edwin Maher reading the news!

He stumbled on a few Chinese names, so I am not sure how long he has been in China. Only fans of the ABC will know who he is.

I'll have to be more attentive of names Mike for I do tune in to a few ABC shows, Spooks, Wire in the Blood, Chasers, Foreign Correspondent and a few other docs, newsy, other series and miscellaneous etc., and though the name rings a bell, not too sure of his face.
Even without an Aussie voice, it'd be hard to be too lonely up there I imagine - speak any Mandarin?, and have any Chinese come along wanting to practise english with you like happens in Vietnam or used to anyway.
