Man spends $1000 a week on beer

I thought I drank a lot, but this guy is incredible!

Quote:
SYDNEY (Reuters) - An Australian man convicted of his seventh drink-driving charge was spending about A$1,000 ($972) a week on beer -- enough to buy more than 2,500 small bottles a month, a newspaper said Tuesday.
The heartbroken construction worker began drowning his sorrows after breaking up with his partner five years ago, the Northern Territory News said, quoting his defense lawyer as telling a court in Australia's remote, tropical north.

And he's been doing that for five years? I understand the feeling of being sort of heartbroken and all and how comforting/distracting alcohol could be, but a grand a week for booze? that is a little too much. if he don't die of driving drunk, he would by over drinking...

You might just excite some boutique beer drinkers George for their thoughts on VB but still more than not just a bad cold drop on a hot day I agree entirely, and certainly more of the knock it down to wash the dust away variety (and easier on the wallet too).

Just thinking of that bloke again, I wonder whether he has been having the reporters on for you would have to be earning a heap to be spending that ammount on grog alone - bet nobody bothered with his financial records.

well, after a few weeks of being able to save up, I guess, the man spending that much is not that impossible now, I have been spending some dough as well in buying booze for the past few months, though, not on the daily basis.
