Google street view is now available in Australia. Type in your street address and you can see your house! I believe the letter boxes are blurred, but it does raise some serious privacy issues.

It could be good for realestate, but that is the only practical application I can think of.

Suppose real estate people and prospective buyers could use it, the latter doing a sit at home cull of properties if they want a nice looking street, but then again you could miss out on some good properties that way, though always has been said to but worse house in a good street/neighbourhood if you are looking to do some work for an appreciation killing.

Clicked on the link you gave Mike and straight away you're hit by a Utube commercial and that's a great way of chewing up bytes and so with reliance on satBB and limited bytes (may have to change my plan) whereas I use google earth a bit, can't say as I'll be going to street level myself too much.
