(i only count the house to live, food and transport )

Going to be a lot of variables like type of residence, renting or buying, how far from work/public or private transport, appetite and taste in foods/drink.

If renting and using public transport, a guess at ~$1500-2500/mth.

I've been living in Brisbane for 8 months so here is an idea of costs here:

accomodation in a share house : $130/week + bills ($30/months)
food : $200/month (certainly less)
Transport: $110/month for 2 zones
Phone (mobile) : $30/month

Plus extra $200/month (going out, resto, cinema) etc.
