Population strategy in Oz scored

Australia does not have a coherent strategy to achieve the country’s national objectives in terms of implementing the population changes it needs, it is claimed.

The government’s sustainable population report does little more than re-state that the size, composition and location of Australia’s population must achieve economic, social and environmental goals, according to the Business Council of Australia (BCA). [click to continue…]

A backlog of visa applications in Australia is causing some concern with some critics believing that more resources should be allocated by the government to dealing with the problem. The Australian immigration department has admitted that there is a backlog of around 140,000 applications relating to skilled worker visas.
