Mech Engineer w OZ qualification looking for sponsor

I graduated from University of Queensland, with BA in Engineering 4 years ago. I however, have very little experience in my field. Can I easily find a sponsor? I am interested in working in the mining sector. Where can I find list of companies willing to sponsor candidates in my field for this sector?
Anyone? I have lived in Australia before on student visa.

Thanks

There's the reference to a Skilled Database in the General Skilled Migration Page and you can register on that once you have an appropriate visa, page link here: Professionals and other Skilled Migrants - Workers - Visas & Immigration .

Your limited experience will possibly make companies reluctant to committ to sponsorship but have you checked your eligibility score on independant assessment to see if you pass?, and could be a good chance of that with having studied in Australia, for if so then getting a visa to immigrate independently and then applying might well be your best approach - SEEK - Australia's no. 1 jobs, employment, career and recruitment site and Job Search - Australian jobs - Job listing - Find a job - CareerOne will have many positions listed.

Other than that and going to an immigration agent and having them search, there are many employment agencies you'll probably find with a bit of googling; Extraman - Mining, Engineering, Construction, Marine & Heavy Manufacturing Personnel Supplier - Home being one I recall and just recently I saw commentary from the WA Chamber of Commerce on projected skills shortages, and so a google up for their contact would also do you no harm.

Thanks. I actually pass the eligibility test except I'm not sure about my qualification that might need to assess before being eligible. Do you know if someone like me needs to be assess by professional bodies like Engineers Australia?

Thanks. Will google for more info

I scored 135 points if I considered myself assessed.

Yep, qualifications assessment are done by IEA, links being on Department of Immigration and Citizenship but should not be an issue if you have Qld. Uni qualifications.
