Hi,

This is the visa that they'd be looking at getting after studying in Australia:
Skilled – Graduate (Temporary) visa (subclass 485)

They meet the IELTS requirements, because you only need a minimum of 6 in each category.

They also have to meet all the other eligibility as listed here:
Age, English Language Ability, Nominated Skilled Occupation, Skills Assessment, Eligible Visa, Australian Study Requirement, Location, Health, Character, Australian Values Statement
Read the link for more detailed information:
Skilled – Graduate (Temporary) visa (subclass 485)

Thanks for bringing that to my attention. So it seems that the assesor requires a higher standard than that of immigration.

You're right, it does say:
To meet the requirements for a nominated Australian and New Zealand standard classification of occupations (ANZSCO) code, prospective migrants must have:
- a formal qualification (or combination of qualifications) that is assessed as comparable to an Australian bachelor degree
- an IELTS academic test report form showing a score of at least seven (7) on each of the four (4) components - speaking, reading, listening and writing

Hi!

Thank you much for your link. I found somthing I was looking for,

Graduate

Q. Can I use my CPA Australia skills assessment to apply for a Graduate (Temporary) Visa (Subclass 485)?

A. From 1 July 2010, graduates of Australian accounting degree programs will be able to use their assessments to apply for a Temporary Visa Subclass 485 if they receive an assessment showing that they have:
a recognised accounting degree from an Australian higher education provider. CPA Australia recognises graduates with a Bachelor degree, or a Masters degree that comprises a minimum of 12 units.
completion of at least nine out of the 12 core knowledge areas at tertiary level, each nominated occupation has four compulsory core knowledge areas and five optional areas
an IELTS test result of a minimum of six on each of the four components speaking, reading, listening and writing.

You should probably contact them because on the same page they have:
"To meet the requirements for a nominated Australian and New Zealand standard classification of occupations (ANZSCO) code, prospective migrants must have:

- an IELTS academic test report form showing a score of at least seven (7) on each of the four (4) components - speaking, reading, listening and writing"

- they seem to have said two different things on the same page, so it's not clear which is correct.

HI
Even though CPA mentioned assessment processing time 10 days apparently it takes more time like 4 weeks.
Since my visa expires end of September 2011can I get assessment done by another public accounting body?

I think that is the standard processing time from all accounting bodies. I did mine through NIA, it has taken me roughly 3 weeks or so. Y dont u phone CA, And NIA to confirm the processing time? If i can remember there is an express and standard service.. The espress one is quicker.. Well just try to inquire that..
