HI there,

no it is not possible to apply "onhore" while you are offshore.

You have three options:
1. Apply for a defacto offshore (you need to be outside Australia when the visa is granted - but you may visit)
2.) Apply for a Prospective Marriage Visa (PMV) from outside Australia, but you have to marry within the next 9months once the visa is granted
3.) You apply for an Onshore defacto visa IN Australia while you are still on a tourist visa. Once your tourist visa expires, you will get a Bridging Visa. However, you need to make sure that your Tourist visa does NOT have a "no further stay" condition. If it does, you cannot apply onshore.

Information and requirements for all the mentioned visa can be found in the immigration Partner booklet 1 and also in this forum, there are hundreds of tipps to find here ;-)

Good luck!

hello jazzy if i will apply de facto how long it will take? i know the requirement for that is 1 yr relationship right. were almost 2 yrs and we been together for 1 yr in Australia? i want to get the list of req that i need to provide and also to my partner im really confused to look in immi web..

and my question is if your allowed to use all your 1 yrs tourist visa? because i have 1 yrs visa and multiple visa and i need to leave australia every 3 months ? there is no limitation for that right ? the most important is you need to leave au?

Hi Mark

Here is a list of the approx processing times:
Client Service Charter
So you might be waiting for 12 months!

I believe, if you have a 12months visa, and the 3 months are up, that means it "ceases" and you go on a Bridging visa (if you Dont have a No Further Stay condition in it, you can look this up on your visa paper!). Then you wouldnt need to leave Australia anymore.
