Introducing myself and help needed please!!!

Hi Im new to the forum and am looking for some advice on how to start the process of applying to move to Australia

Could some one give me a list (ie 1-10 say) of the first to last things to do to get me there. Ive been reading through here and am just a little confused of the whole process and dont want to miss anything out or get anything wrong.

Am quite happy to provide info of current circumstances if that helps..

Many Thanks in anticipation

xx

Rather than a 1 to 10 list Blossom, if you have a look at the immigration site Visas section Visas, Immigration & Refugees you'll see it is a menu driven system.

I realise all the information about can seem a bit daunting and threads on the forum also contain a lot of different information and reasons for both of that is that there are a number of different visa categories and as per the forum there are people in different cicumstances who look for help in ascertaining what is or is not possible.

But back to the site and the menu and if you're not sure of how your situation fits [and we cannot either given information you have provided], bottom rung on the menu is "Find a Visa" - a visa wizard that'll take you through question and answer steps to see if there is a visa that you'll be eligible for.

So step 1. - check out if there is a visa to fit.

And essentially, eligibility for most immigration visas for an individual are going to be based on some or all of skills, age, english ability and recent work experience.

There are also student visas, costly as far as education fees etc., but can possibly provide a path to immigration [not to be counted on as definite though]

And then depending on your country and age, you may be eligible for a working holiday visa [under visitors] that would at least enable you to get a look in, some people having gone on to achieve permanent immigration.

Overall though Australia is currently tightening up on skilled immigration given global economic circumstances and have a look at the sticky thread at top of the forum visa and immigration section for it has links there about what is happening.

I'll move your post to that section.
