457 visa

Hi all,
I am an Irish Electrician living in London with an offer of 457 sponsorship. For the 457 they ask why you should be employed ahead of a local. I'm not sure what to say. The Australian company are domestic and commercial based in Melbourne. I have 18 years experience, I've done the Irish Fetac apprenticeship, British 17th Edition, Comp Ex 01-04 and have a JIB Goldcard. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

As far as I know this question is not part of the actual visa application and should be answered by the sponsor in the nomination application. You are not trying to do the nomination as well, are you ? Most sponsors get migration agents to deal with these sort of issues, unless they have an experienced and savyy staff member who knows what they are doing. The visa applicant should not be dealing with the nomination at all.

If the sponsor does not know how to address the Labour Market Testing
requirement, I strongly recommend he engage a registered migration agent. The question has to do with the sponsor's business and the local employment market, so you cannot possibly answer this for him. It has to be carefully considered and be backed up by documentary evidence. If he has to ask the visa applicant for advice he may well be setting himself up for a refusal.
