de facto spouce visa help

Hello everyone,

i m an international student and my boyfriend in a permanent resident. i lodged my de facto file last week, and i got a letter from my case officer to provide further information in relation to my partner visa application within 28days.

my case officer asked me to submit more documents regarding one year relationship requirement for de facto and other documents regarding the indication of commitment(mutual commoitment to a shared life)

me and my boyfiend leaving together from last 1 1/2 yrs. we are going to marry this december.

i provided documents as follows.

* intention of marriage reciept

* Financial
-joint account
- joint lease from last 3months(old lease was on my Boyfriend's name only)
- telephone, gas, electricity, internet bills.
- payslips
-
* Social
- 2 satutory declaration
- joint invitation cards for b'day party
- joint Xmas wishes card
- photographs- indicates each others b'day celebrations, travel, social function etc.
- travel tickets together
- history of relationship from both of us
- each others mobile calling history attached with bills
-

health and character certificates

i try my best to collect all documents.

but my case officer asked me to provide documents that show the nature of our relationship, "the federal court of Australia has described as a mutual commitment to a shared life."

and case officer asked to provide evidence that me and my partner were not living apart on permanent basis in last one year.

Do i need to provide all my last years bills in a sequence?that can prove same residential address from last 12months or something that can prove we were leaving together and we havent seperated during last year. does bank statements help that indicate, we supported each other financially.

i am really confused regarding these documents because i attached more than 50 evidences. i really appreciate any comments from you guys.

cheers

twinkle

It's never going to be quantity of documents they will be after, especially if not supporting that one year or more of a relationship with cohabitation.

Your name on the lease for only three months means that yes you need to provide evidence to substantiate the earlier nine months at least and so if you have bills etc., and a joint bank account or whatever that go back for nine months and more, then yes use them as evidence.

As for commitment to a relationship, that was also asked about in a previous thread and I'm none the wiser on what immi may want to see or what they could expect - perhaps further statutory declarations from close friends and/or family to indicate that they view the relationship as solid etc. and would have every expectation of it being permanent.

Other than that or even as well I'd contact the CO to ask just what they would see as evidence of commitment - to me it'd be a reasonable request.
It would be interesting to find out what information you do get if you would like to re-post.

Smile hi

Hi Wanderer,

thanks for reply.

well i had attached all my old and new bills and bank statements before i lodged my file to prove same residential address. But i am getting bit clear about some of the small things which i didn't considered. i didn't put any of the evidence which can describe our residential arrangements and responsibilities to each other. but this time i will attach some more photographs of house and living arrangements. my stuty room and bedroom.

and some more residential address proof like uni letters, medical and super annuation documents.

so if u get some more ideas please please reply.

i will contact my case officer soon n i will inform you if i will get more ideas regarding documents.......

thanks for your time to review my case.

cheers
