Smile Medical Request Came in - How long it may take further?

Hey,

We have got medical and police verification request from case officer. But, since, my wife is pregnant, we have requested the case officer to postpone the medical request by 2 months. Any idea, how long the processing may take once we submit the medical and police verification form (say in end of December) to the Case Officer? FYI, We have applied under Skilled Independent, Sub class 175 and main applicant's occupation is listed under SOL.

Thanks and Regards,
Anmol

No idea anmol re time from medical/PCC but I'd expect it could still be a couple of months [or more] for if you are not on the CSL you can count yourself lucky in having the visa processed according to the uncertainty of processing times introduced with priorities set on 23/9 - see sticky thread on that.

I think I've read at some time re MOCs taking pregnancy into account when doing a medical, ie. possibly no Xray if that is what you were concerned about.
I'd raise that with the CO before you just delay for that'll just put you back in the queue somewhere.

^ yeah, definitly check out whether or not she could get the medical without x-ray. I think i read that this is very possible especially if she has never been to a high risk country for tuberculosis.

How long will it take though? well it depends--usually CO's will give you a date as to when they will next contact you. If you can get the checks and the medical in before that contact date, then you know that you will hear something on said date. Im not sure what country you are in, but, i do know that in many countries it takes up to 3 weeks for HIV testing (which you have to get if your visa is or is a gateway to a permanent visa) to be processed, so i am guessing it takes a little over 3 weeks for the medical to get to your CO.

Hope this helps and good luck!
