over 75 tourist visa

Has anyone come across new rules for over 75 travelling to Australia for a 5 week holiday, my mother has been told over 75s now need a medical at a designated medical place, she is travelling from the UK??
Is this now the procedure??

Is it a subclass 600 visa she'd be applying for? If so, that's correct. See:

Looks like she needs a medical exam, but not a chest xray or blood test.

Visa #2: Subclass 820 (From PMV)
Nationality: US
Applied: Online, Onshore through Sydney Office
Application Date: 24 April 2014
Police Checks: Not neccessary as completed for PMV
Medicals: Not neccessary as completed for PMV
VISA GRANTED: 7 July 2014

Original PMV visa through Washington, DC. Took almost 9 months. Medicals referred (cleared in just a month). PMV granted 03 January 2014.

Thanks for that link, maybe she can go for the 651 visa....no one seems to be able to give her a straight answer when she phone immigration etc. But pretty clear on that form that a 600 needs a medical.
