assuranceof support question

hello my bf has just put in his application for spouse visa,he has been asked to have an assurance of support.My parents have offered to be that for him,they both work full time,own their own home and earn at least 30 000 each a yr.my question is will they have to supply the $5000 bond or not.does anyone know.thanks for your time......

It is not too usual for Assurers to have to put up a bond from what I gathered on talking to a social security person in the department that makes the decisions, though always possibility if thay do have different offices and officers applying a variation of view.
