Subclass 820 - Form 80

Does the 80 Form need to be completed when applying for a subclass 820 (onshore application)?

Hi there,

The form 80 is not always requested by immigration. Certain visa classes also seem to need it, and some others don't. It can also depend whether the applicant is from a high risk country or not. My partner submitted his application offshore without one and so far has not been asked for one.

It says on the checklist that form 80 may or may not be needed and to wait for a request from you CO. You can put one in now if you really want. If your CO doesn't need it, they will just disregard it I guess.

Don't think 80 is needed (for online app)

I don't think you need the form 80 actually, there's nothing about it in the booklet and nothing in the documents check list online on this page:]Partner visa (subclasses 820 and 801
(Go to Visa applicant>Document check list)

But I have seen it in another check list I found somewhere at immi. So it is a bit confusing, but if you're doing an online application as I'm going to I don't think it's needed. Cause they ask the same questions in the form as on the online form! So I don't get why you would have to apply twice. But correct me anyone if I'm wrong!

It is confusing - on the PMV checklist (offshore) it says Form 80 (if requested)

I think everybody has mixed opinions about this. Some will say it's 100% mandarory, others only if requested, etc (even Immigration seems to keep changing their answer). If you're concerned about them needing it and delaying your application if they don't have it (whilst requesting it from you), then just submit it.

I personally never submitted it (neither for my PMV nor my 820) and they never requested it (and I am from a high risk country), but each case officer is different and is up to them what they request or not.
