Hi!
My partner and I are about to apply for a partner visa when he arrives here in Australia in the next week or so. He was previously married and only has his decree of divorce. Is it mandatory to have the divorce certificate or will a decree suffice?
I supplied my 'divorce order' for our application.
Not sure what the difference is between a certificate, which I never had, and a divorce decree. What country was he divorced in? The paperwork might be different.
Just looked at my old paperwork, and I have a copy of the court order which is possibly a decree, but no words that mention it. It is called a divorce order.
I just looked this up, and in the US it seems a 'divorce decree is a court document that is a final judgment from divorce court', The same as a 'divorce order' here in Australia.
For Australian divorces now, "Divorce orders after February 2010 are digital orders with an electronic seal and signature. This is the only form of order provided by the court."
Dear All,
Need your help . Is there any financial assistance for Spouse visa as my husband has just started his job and we have been married since December 2017 and facing financial crunches . Kindly help . My husband is in Australia and I am in India . reply and guidance will be appreciated
He might qualify for a personal loan from his bank. Some people I have heard of raise some money by crowdfunding, but I don't know how successful that is.
Family and friends can be helpful by pooling donations, but it's a large amount of money to ask people for.
Sadly there is no financial assistance for the Partner Visa - many on this forum suspect that the high cost is the DHA's way of discouraging those that are not completely serious.
