PR after unpaid tickets

Hi there!

Thanks very much in advance for reading/answering my question;

I've been in Australia for almost 2 years now on a 457 Defacto VISA. My partner will soon reach 2 years at her employer (who sponsors her 457) and agreed to help her in applying for a permanent residency. So we will start the process soon..

In the last 2 years I've been neglectful in 2 matters;

- An unpaid speeding ticket, I didnt pay it for a long time.
- One unpaid gas bill, the energy company sent my case through to a debt collection company.

Can either or both of these issues possibly have a negative effect on my PR application?

Thank you!
Martin

Hi MartinA,

I'm not 100% sure, but from what I've read here issues are more about owing money to the government & criminal records.
