That is completely untrue. Don't believe rumors you hear until you see professional migration agents discussing them publicly or an announcement from DIBP. That would be a major and completely unreasonable, untenable change. What, they're going to suddenly tell thousands of immigrants they can't bring their spouses, completely eliminating any chance of bringing over the best and brightest and very in-demand skilled workers? Never happen, IMO.

Applied: End of April 2014.
Visa Granted: Early July 2014.
Visa #3: 801 (PR)
Eligibility Date: End of April 2016 (Applied a month prior).
PR Granted: Early April 2017.
