Qualification Description

This CHC43015 Certificate-IV in Ageing Support qualification reflects the role of support workers who complete specialized tasks and functions in aged services; either in residential, home, or community-based environments. Workers will take responsibility for their own outputs within defined organization guidelines and maintain quality service delivery through the development, facilitation, and review of individualized service planning and delivery.

Workers may be required to demonstrate leadership and have limited responsibility for the organization and the quantity and quality of outputs of others within limited parameters.

Licensing

No licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements apply to this qualification at the time of publication.

To be eligible for the award of the CHC43015 Certificate IV in Ageing Support learners must successfully complete a total of 18 units comprising: 15 core units and 3 elective units

Course Duration:
This course is 52 weeks long including 40 weeks of study (4 x 10-week term inclusive of 6 weeks of work placement / 120 hours) and 12 weeks holiday.

Fees and Charges
Application Fee: AUD $250.00

Material Fee: AUD $250.00

(These Fees are Non-refundable and are due on application)

Course Tuition fee: AUD $12,000.00 paid as follows:

Before the commencement of Term 1: AUD $3,500.00 Inc(Nonrefundable $250 Application fees and $250 material fee)

Before the commencement of Term 2: AUD $3,000.00

Before the commencement of Term 3: AUD $3,000.00

Before the commencement of Term 4: AUD $3,000.00

Total Course Fees incl Tuition, non-refundable Application Fee and Material fee: $12,500.00
Entry Requirements
Age
All Students must be aged 18 years of age or over at the time of applying for admission in the Institute.

Language, Literacy and Numeracy Requirements
It is expected that students demonstrate language, literacy and numeracy skills at the appropriate level to be able to succeed in the course.

Additional support will be available for those with low LL&N skills identified through the pre-entry test.

The student would need the following skills:

Oral communication for verbal reports/group work.
Written communication for written assignments
Numeracy to complete numeracy tasks in class.
Literacy skills to gain knowledge through reading and the use of media and technology.

Minimum Academic Requirements
Satisfactory Completion of Equivalent to Australian Year 12 qualification. Relevant work experience will be taken into consideration

Minimum English requirements
IELTS (Academic): minimum overall band of 5.5 (with no individual band below 5.0)

PTE (Pearson Test of English) (Academic): minimum score of 46 (with no band less than 42)

Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) score of 47

TOEFL Internet-Based Test (IBT) score of 62

Visa Requirements
International Student must meet the requirement for the student Visa (i.e., Subclass 500) and:
Be of good character with genuine interest to undertake the qualification
Are of sound health
Must be able to undertake a minimum of 20-hours of classroom training per week.
Have acceptable health insurance through the Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) for self and any family members accompanying student to Australia.
Demonstrate the capacity to meet basic living costs requirements set by the Australian Government
Have a genuine intent of studying

Requirements for Work Placement
A Police Clearance Certificate is mandatory prior to your work placement; Student must undertake a Federal Police Check (AFP) or NSW Police check

(Police Check/AFP must be no less than 12 months old).

Relevant immunization check (as per NSW health guidelines) These checks must be completed at the start of the course and prior to industry work placement. Students must be physically able to do moderate amount of lifting using the appropriate equipment. The students should not have any mobility, hearing, and vision problems to carry out duties efficiently in the hospital or community care settings whilst at placement.

Previous Recognitions
We Offer Credit Transfer (CT) to Individuals who can provide documentary evidence of prior formal study pertaining to the unit of competency. Candidates with prior experience can be assessed with RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning). CT is for free of charge and fees apply for the RPL.
