Same (except 187) lodged 18/08/2015 and still waiting.
Asked Immigration agent to email follow up. Hopefully receive an update this week and will keep you guys posted.

It wont stop me checking the immi account 20 times a day.

I did see that the status flow chart will go from 'Application Received' (which is what my application is currently showing) to either ' Information requested' - 'Assessment in progress' - finalised or it will go straight to 'Finalised' from this stage.

Still it is very frustrating.

Good luck

That's strange, one of my Korean workmate got his 187 visa approved within 3 months! He applied in September and visa was granted before Christmas. Then the other Korean didn't apply till mid Feb and already in process! (assessment in progress) I don't know why they can be so quick, don't think it has something to do with their immigration lawyer. Since I'm no Korean, they wouldn't tell what the heck is going on.

I personally apply in November, probably not gonna get any update till August. My company seems already start lose patience on me since those bloody Korean are being so lucky and quick.

I hear you. It's been a long time for us and a workmate of mine was also approved in 4 months. Very frustrating as all you can do is wait. Even an update on their website to say that there is a backlog would be helpful.
I will update you when there is a change.

Good luck.

Thanks a lot. Fingers crossed for you. I set up my email to be notified as soon as there was a change to the status. It didn't stop me checking every day ( numerous times) but it did notify me at the exact same time as my immigration agent was notified. It's done in account preferences if I remember right.

Hi just updating to give some scope of timelines.
I'm at processing stage.
Assessment in progress.
I was asked for a couple of additional documents and was contacted very kindly be the department via phone as well as email.
Attached said documents and very promptly went to assessing the same day.
My lodgement was mid august and that's the month they are up to for processing.

Hope that helps
Happy Easter

Hi,
Well they stayed wanted extra documents regarding police checks dating back including current one, my error as I had only gone as far back at 7 years and not ten.
They asked for that six months and three weeks.

It hanged to processing two days ago and it's seven months exactly as of tomorrow from lodgement

Good luck with yours!

Hi,
Yes they are up to mid august at the moment and are working in that window, about a two week block from what I can see.
I wouldn't expect anything for at least 3 months.
If you lodged 1st oct, that's eight weeks onto mine and I'm not fully processed at this stage.
I would expect to hear from them in about 8-10 weeks time.
Sorry to be blunt!
Good luck with it all!

Hi all,
Still no word from the department. The 28 notice period they give you once they ask for additional information ends next Tuesday. I have contacted them several times and will again on the 18th which becomes 8 months and one week
I did expect it to be decided this week but now I'm not so sure.
Trying to remain positive but the timeframe has been rather long.
Will keep you posted.
Happy waiting game

Hi all,

Just updating you that I am still waiting for my visa and I am now over 8months and a week this weekend.
Utterly disappointed and shocked at the time taken.
So continuing to wait as always and the last contact was last week where I was told that a case officer will look at it again shortly.
They are processing late September. Mine was lodged in mid august
Good luck to all

I applied on the 12th of November and still no news.
My agent advised they approved 2 weeks ago another application lodged on the 1st of November, however it doesn't seem indicative of where they are at by the looks of things and other comments in the forum.

457 to 186 (Nomination application has been lodged)

Hello everyone,

Hope this message will find you well.

My employer has notified me that my subclass 186 Nomination application has been lodged (provided confirmation with TRN Number etc.).

Also, I was informed that I can either lodge my Visa application now, or I may choose to wait until the Nomination application has been finalised before lodging my visa.

The question: Should I lodge my visa application immediately or should I wait for the Nomination application to be finalised? What are the pros and cons?

Thank you in advance for guidance and clarification

Hi I would personally prefer you to consult with an immigration lawyer. What i can see from here is applications are piling up in queue and officers are processing them as date vice. At the moment there is more then 8 months of waiting before the application gets picked up by an officer. So i guess you just don't want to wait 8 months for Ens and then same amount of time for your application to get picked up an officer. Don't think that officer will process the application with in a day or 2. I can tell you now they will take their time to process and if they feel they can't get the decision they will put it back in the queue untill someone else picks it up.
I would personally suggest apply it now with your ENS, but do consult with a lawyer. Best of Luck

Hello to all!! My 186 visa and ENS were lodged on Feb 6, 2016 i have completed my medicals and now waiting a decision ( now on bridging visa A). I haven't heard anything from my immigration agent and wondering if anyone knows how long will the wait be? I have heard of people getting there visa granted within 4 months.

Hi at the moment what I can see there is more than 8 months of waiting before you can get the decision. I have heard there is alot of 186 applications on pending. But you never know you may be lucky and get the decision soon. Just hope for the best.
I applied on 1st October 2015 and still waiting. ☺ Best of Luck.
