Hi everyone I am currently overseas and I applied for Citizenship-Evidence online thru myimmiaccount 24 Feb 2017, I just found out it has finalised 05 May 2017 and has not received my new Aus Citizenship Certificate in the mail. The Consular Office in Ottawa said it was sent via regular mail 16 May 2017 and advised me to apply again! I only found this out now because recently I applied for passport replacement with all necessary documents needed (I submitted my previous Aus Citizenship Certificate because I didn't know they have sent me my new Aus Citizenship Certificate and have not received it) and the Consular Office in Vancouver told me my application was returned because the Team Onshore was questioning my citizenship. The Consular Officer destroyed my current passport valid til 22 Feb 2027. My family and I have travel plans next month and is frustrated because the processing time is 22-45 days?? And was told they don't expedite applications for Citizenship Certificate?? Has anyone from this forum had an experience like this? Can anyone enlighten me what is the best thing to do?

Hi all.

I just started reading this forum, mainly to get tips for the Partner visa 309.
I got curious if there was some information about the Proof of Citizenship, form 119, as I just send this via regular post from the Netherlands to the immigration office in Sydney.
I'm baffled to find out that I could have applied online!!! Guess it's to late now 😞

Let's hope they take to long with processing. I need the proof of citizenship to get my passport and so my partner can start the 309 process.

Vipin
It usually take about 36 days to have your application finalised. You should give them a call.

So, my money was taken from my credit card on the 26th of June, but nothing so far. Anyone else who has applied for Evidence of Citizenship from abroad and can share their experiences?

I applied for my own Citizenship certificate. I was included in my parents one, but now we can’t find it and I need to apply for a new passport (and I can’t even proceed on the online passport application without my citizenship details)

My Evidence of Citizenship application I had to guess the dates we were granted citizenship. This may delay my application. We haven’t had to use the citizenship details EVER so we’ve filed it away. The hiding place is too good apparently. I’m on my 30s now, I do remember I was included in my parents certificate in the 90s.

My timeline:
28/08/18
- submitted Evidence of Citizenship application online
- submitted all evidence including copy of my expired passport
- application marked as received
- payment deducted

Seems like they’re deducting payment as soon as the application is submitted these days.
