Unhappy Prospective Marriage Visa (300)

Hello All,

I am currently the sponsor for my Fiance who has applied for the PMV300. I am an Australian citizen by birth and I have no restriction in my position to offer as a sponsor for my Fiance.

She is currently residing in Beijing and we will complete our official wedding here in Brisbane Australia once she has been granted the PMV (as per the criteria).

We decided on engaging a Migration Agent to assist us in lodging for this visa and finally lodged our application on the 21st of October 2015 after a lengthy period of accumulating all the required documentation.

We did not hear anything at all until March of this year (2016) when my Fiance was directed to complete a health assessment which she did so within a few days.

From March 2016 till June 2016 we did not hear boo from The Dept of Immi when they assigned a Case Manager to our file and we had a couple of odd requests (One of my signatures was not up to scratch on my form 40 and my Fiance needed to re-send her Chinese Police Check documentation).

From June 2016 onwards, we have not heard nothing and it is now October and we have been waiting for almost 1 year for our PMV to be granted.

We had our Migration agent contact the Dept of Immi via email a few weeks ago to ask what is going on and they came back & said that "The Visa will be processed within the normal processing time". The interesting part is that the reply came from the Australian Consulate in Shanghai.

Do we need to be concerned at this stage, given we have been waiting for almost a year for this visa to be processed?

We have provided the Dept of Immigration with everything required, including a signed, witnessed and certified NOIM form, so there is absolutely no doubt at all about our integrity in regards to getting married.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,

J.
