Resident return visa eligiblity

if yu have been granted PR and u dont make the intial entry be the due time? due to some reasons like being illness or busy in yours studies or exams what will happen will they cancel yours PR?
is it possible to extend yours initial entry date?
if u fail to enter australia by the due date and u wants to go to australia sometimes again will yu be able to apply for resident return visa? is there any way to again gain yours PR if u loss it.
