Can someone on a visa waiting or citizenship start a company?

Both my husband and I each own our own company here in the US. It seems very hard to work under someone again at the bottom. Can we just start our own companies there on visas? If we reside there? I own a transporting company here providing medical transportation. Is there a need for that there?

Will u have normal work rights when u get here? I can't say I no of any reason why u can't start ur own business here . If ur based in Brisbane my other half needs a job. If u will be in any other city there are many people struggling to find work in this forum so if u do start ur own business please ask here for staff

Is it that hard to find work? If I cannot start my own of course we'll be forced to start searching ourselves. I'm very nervous of running out of money fast because the cost to buy a house alone will take up most of our funds. (We want to pay cash for house). I'm wondering if we own out house, really how much our expenses will be. What's the property tax rate?

Yes it's very difficult to find work from what I read on here though my own partner has only been here and looking for 2 weeks. Seems employers don't care about overseas experience and want local experience .

In relation to property taxes we don't call it that here but consider these costs on owning property in Queensland

Buying : stamp duty and rego fees based in purchase price . Home inspections and search and legal costs

Owning . Council rates based on value if property eg. Brisbane $400k house might be $400 per quarter plus similar in water and sewerage access and water consumption charges.

Insurance on top if course

Perhaps consider renting for a while before u buy to ensure 1 u like area 2 that job/business prospects are good for u in that town
