Regional work

Hi, thinking of heading to Darwin to do my regional work, I can get mine done in construction but my girlfriend will probably need to do some sort of fruit picking or farm work, is it possible for her to that and not have to live away for 3months ? Is there places you can do it with a daily commute ?
