Hi Crish123, Thanks so much! My eligibility date was the 8th of April. They say it takes up to 9 months but most are processed within 3 months. Its all luck of the draw I would say

    Hi Mark,

Sorry to bother again.. Last question. I actually received my documents today from immigration!! YEEAAH!

on the check list it shows:

Original National Police Certificate (NPC) certificate from the Australian Federal Police (AFP).
    Applicant
    Dependent/s
    Sponsor

I am assuming I should go ahead and apply for my wife's (sponsors) AFP certificate or should I just tick and submit mine?

    Hi -

Normally you only need to provide an AFP for the 2nd stage partner application as long as you have not spent more than 12 months in another country during the time you held the first state (provisional) partner visa. That being said, police reports expire after 1 year, and DIAC always has the right to ask for a new one if they want to, for any reason.

    Hope this helps -

    Best,

Generally no, unless DIAC asks for it (rare unless they have a character concern or there's some evidence of a conviction, etc).

Good luck with all - keep in touch -

    Best,

    Mark Northam
