hello Miss Swan, congrats on receiving your PR! I'm Singaporean too and I've put in my 820 application (31 Dec 2012). I've got a couple of questions re Singapore police check ("Certificate of Clearance") if you don't mind sharing your experiences
I've received the generic DIAC email today (15 May 2013) asking for the submission of medicals and police clearances. With regards to the Singapore COC, did you apply through mail (as in, you were not in Singapore to apply in person)? If yes, how did you get your fingerprint impressions "collected" or "verified" in Australia? How much the bank charged you for making a bank draft to pay Singapore Police Force?
I'm in Adelaide and plan to apply for COC through the mail. I'm waiting on the DIAC to give me a request letter for Singapore Police Force, and of course, fretting over the fingerprints issue..
Thanks in advance!!
Hi there, hope you're well. I thought to drop you a PM as you're the only other Singaporean applicant I know who's in the same boat as I (820 onshore). As you know the Singapore Police Force requires a letter from DIAC requesting for a police clearance so I am wondering what steps you took to get that and how long it took for DIAC to respond? I did mention in my cover letter that that was the only thing it was missing and for them to get in touch but it's been more than a month and I'm not sure what I can do at the moment. Would really appreciate your advice! Thanks -Claire
