    Hey mate,

How's it going ? I am very sorry for the late response. I log into my account from time to time.. Thanks for letting me know about your father-in-law... My tourist visa got knocked back, when I applied for it in 2016. The same thing happened in early 2017. So, I have used the money to pay for my partner's trip. He spent a month (From Jun to Jul 2017) here and got back to Oz. Now, we are trying to get married and we need to gather all the evidence we can to support our application... I bet your PR was a success, ay ? Hope to catch up with things soon.

    Shane.

    Hello SteSha,

Sorry for the delayed response, i have not been on the forum for a while. I am Australian and my wife is Mauritian, my father in law came over from Mauritius September last year on a tourist visa. You don't need to have much in your account if your boyfriend can show that he has enough funds to support you. Australia is expensive especially Perth where we live. When my father in law came over i gave immigration a copy of my bank statement as he did not earn much. Hope this helps, i will be on the forum a bit more now as we are applying for my wife's PR

    Hi Scotty P,

I hope all is well with you. There are some questions that I would like to ask you about the Tourist visa. I am planning to visit my boyfriend. Thanks for taking the time to read this.

    1) As you've noticed, I am Mauritian. So, my question is, how much money do I need for my pocket money ? I will be provided with food and accomodation.

    2) How much should I show on my bank statements ? I am currently unemployed, but I worked for 8 months (June 2015 to Feb 2016).

    Any suggestions will be appreciated.

    Thank you.

    Cheers.
