An Aussie and a Brit

Hello everyone!

I'm Tom, originally from Sydney but 8 years in the UK. My husband is Jeremy, he's British born and bred.

We are just starting the Partner Visa application for Jeremy, as we want to move over to Sydney, and I stumbled across this forum. Already found some very useful info from everyone's posts, so thank you!

We are hoping to have it through by the end of 2015. Beginning the process to sort our life here to move over.

We have been together nearly 6 years, lived together 5 of that, have had a joint mortgage the last 4 and got civil partnered in 2013 which becomes a marriage on Jan 24th.

Hoping we have a solid case for getting the Visa approved.

I'm sure we'll have some questions throughout the process, so will be nice to know there are people with first hand experience.

All the best,
Tom and Jeremy

Welcome!

My partner is from the UK and I know a few people who have applied offshore from the London office.

Seems like you will have no troubles at all getting a partner visa - I know we applied with a lot less!

Best of luck and feel free to ask any questions you might have!

Thankyou, I have just posted a question in the Immigration section regarding the requirement for a sponsor to support the applicant once in Australia. Any advice would be most welcome.
