I am new

Hi everyone, I just found out about this forum, its very interesting n helpful as some of my silent questions have been answered while reading thorough some comments..However, I have a question here if anybody can help me:

Q: I am from PNG,recently got engaged to my Australian BF and we planned for our wedding in December 30 this year 2012..We are in the process of applying for a Prospective Marriage Visa (PMV) and as advised ,it would take 12 to 14 months arrrg!..However,we cant wait that long and our marriage will need to proceed as we have already arranged the wedding celebrant and prepartions are already underway...Can i get a tourist visa to go in December, marry and stay for a period of time until my PMV is approved? then i understand i will have to come back to my country to enter aus again using the PMV visa..however,am i overlooking other methods that will help me get in to aus,get married and apply for other visas etc? Please someone help me on this...:many thanks :-)
