Smile Hello from a registered migration agent in Melbourne, Australia

Hi All,

I'm Nick and I'm a registered migration agent. I have joined this forum so I share my knowledge and experience in regards to Australian visas. I also have almost ten years experience as a travel consultant and have travelled the World extensively. I love meeting new people and sharing in their experiences. The thing I love about living in Melbourne, Australia is that it is so multi cultural.

Look forward to making many new friends!

Nick

HI Nick,

I have been told that Melbourne or Voctoria is not open to State Sponsorship's for IT professionals currently. do you agree with this stateent? My Wife's application has 55 poins( Analyst Programmer), and so we wanted Vistoria Sponsorship, as we would like to settle in Melbourne, but the agent we are speaking to, has said it will be quite difficult. She suggested a NSW sponsorship.
Do you agree wiht this inforrmation?
thanks

I have applied for 189 Visa as a management accountant on the 25th of January 2016. MY EOI score was 70.

My CO has contacted me via emial twice;
first to complete Form 80 which was not required originally and
an later to know my UK address as a proof to my UK qualifications.

I responded to both immediately. With regards to my UK study and qualifications I indicated that it was through distance study.

I also want to know why the embassy in Kenya would be contacting my current employers (I am in Ghana) because I have included to references in my immiaccount. They call at odd hours and when they asked to call back they never do so until several weeks. This is the information I have from my HR.

At this point is there any advice you can give.

Thanks and best regards.

Hi Andy,

Apologies for the delayed response.

Can I please clarify your question? Are you asking why it's taking so long for your 189 visa application to be processed?

Regards,

Nick

Yes Nick. Below are some clarifications.

I submitted my application on the 25th of January 2016. My EOI Score was 70 and my nominated profession was management accountant (ANZSCO code 221112).
GSM Adelaide has contacted me 3 times as follows;

8th February 2016: request for all information
10th March 2016:Form 80 and confirmation of dependents
8th April 2016: Confirmation of my UK address as further proof of my UK studies.
Apart from the first request which took about three weeks to complete, all others were submitted within 24 hours.

Aside of this I have updated my Immiaccount with two form 1023 (Correction of incorrect information)
1. Information on a spent traffic conviction which was originally omitted from the application.
2. Providing information on employment dates to confirm with employer references.

Could any of the above account for the delays in the visa being issued? Does GSM Adelaide contacting me means that a case officer has been assigne?

Thanks

Hi Andy,

Permanent visas generally take a while to be granted. In response to your particular circumstances, I can't speak on behalf of the Department of Immigration. I suggest speaking to your case officer.

Regards,

Nick

Hi Nick,

Welcome - I am a newbie too!!

In your experience, do DIBP ever respond to the online complaint/compliment/feedback ? OR as a MA is there a better way to contact them ?

Many thanks

I've only ever had to call them once, and they were quite helpful.
