Hello

So obviously I am brand new here. I have a very specific reason for joining, so if anyone can give me advice it would be much appreciated

I am an Australian citizen, travel overseas quite regularly...and recently met the most lovely lady whilst on a trip. We have stayed in regular contact, and she would like to come here to visit...spend some time...and I guess we would like to see whether a relationship is worth persuing...if so, the eventual goal would be for her to move here permanently

I realise it isnt an easy or quick thing...or inexpensive for that matter

Is this a worthwhile persuit...or too difficult so best to forget about it

How would one go about it...apply for a visitor visa initially or something else??

She is from Kenya, and has a young daughter, 9 years.

Thanks

As to your question is it so difficult you should forget about it? Yes it is. I would never ever do this again. 3 refused tourist visas. One refused fiance visa one Mrt hearing, another finally approved fiance visa, then he finally gets here after 4.25 years of fighting and 50k in legal fees visa fees and travel. Then at 5 years another partner visa approved and here we are now at 7 year mark still going through the process and looking at p.r.

Yes it's expensive

Yes it's heartbreaking
Yes it's soul destroying

Is it worth it? Only if u love them so much u can't imagine ur life without them.

If u are just considering a relationship but ur hearts not in it get - don't do it - it's not worth it

wow chicken, thats quite astonishing...and sincerest congratulations, sound like you have fought so hard for something...and are winning!!! Really happy for you, and hope the struggles soon become just a memory.

Feeling quite discouraged, had absolutely no idea about any of this. Were there any reasons that made your applications so difficult...or is this just very typical of any application for someone from an African country?
