Smile Newbie needing help!

Hi everyone...I am a newbie to this site and to Oz. I am in Oz on a tourist visa for 6 months. My boyfriend moved out here and has a job & citizenship so I have come to see if its for me too! We are both from the UK and loving the change in life style.
My question is can I change my tourist visa to an employer sponsored visa whist I am here? The reason being is the company I worked for in the UK have businesses out here & I have been contacted by one of them to see if in the future I would be interested in working for them.
At the moment I am happy not working and just holidaying but good to look at future options.
Thanks for any help given.

Hey Elmo,

My understanding is that if on a tourist visa, then it depends on the "conditions" placed on it. If it was issued with a "no further stay" then the answer IMHO is no, you cannot apply for a change in visa. If on the other hand it doesn't have that condition then you are allowed to apply for a different visa while in Oz. You should contact immigration and ask about your specific case.
