Query Regarding ACS / DIAC

My name is Rahul, I am new here. I am planning to move to Australia and would like to know about the process of getting a PR. I have a question which is:-

Does ACS / DIAC contacts and verify details from the University. Since the one I have passed out from has a very limited resource to net and have mostly manual methods for archived documents.
