Philippines is a nice place to visit and i will retire there one day when i am old, not yet though haha. It is affordable and enjoyable as long as you buy an airconditioner for your house. See how i avoided the "chismas" but yes of course there is a girl involved

'Chismis', you mean? I would have to agree with you about Phils being nice and ideal for retirement. Don't worry you're not the only Aussie who is involved with a Filipina and there's nothing wrong with that. We are beautiful and exotic!

haha i am not worried what people think about me having a filipino wife. I was married for 7 years before to a filipino, this is my second time around. On the Southside of Brisbane (Inala) there is a filipino church which fills every sunday with Filipino couples, and Filipinos married to Aussies for pray and then better lunch and a social chat. Just search this site for "pmv or spouse visa from the philippines" there is 295 pages of chat of filipinos and aussies trying to be together. The higher the page number the more recent the entry. Some of the filipinos are already living in Australia

Ok will check that one out. I also know some Filipino families who are based in other countries (for ex Singapore) and obtained their PR visas recently. I'm sure they will feel right at home in Oz, what with the Filipino community and other cultures as well. Unfortunately, Japan is averse to immigration so it doesn't have that many foreigners yet. It'll take 10 years for foreigners to apply for a Permanent Resident visa, shorter when married to a Japanese of course.
