New member trying to obtain a sponsorship as a carpenter

Goodday mates!

I'm new to this forum, so I'd like to introduce myself. I'm Fabian a 37 years old Dutch guy, married and have a daughter who's 4 years old.
My wife and I are born in the same little village in the Netherlands, and we met each other in Sydney (2001) (It's a small world after all).

We both fell in love with Oz and kept the immigration dream alive. I'm busy studying IELTS at the moment whilst the exam date is on the 24th of September.

The plan is, to start applying for jobs in construction after finishing the exam. In November I'll be visiting Australia to find an employer who's willing to sponsor me on a 457 visa. Hope to meet like minded people here and gain some useful tips.

In most States you might need a licence to work as a carpenter.

Most people in the building trades are employed as sub contract.

Have you checked out that side of things?

Thank you for your reply. I'am aware that its going to be quite a challenge, but I know that other Dutch/German carpenters managed to find a sponsor from offshore. Can you give me advise on these licences?
