Hi, I come for answers.

I like asking people about their views and opinions on various topics. I have lived in Australia all my life, despite being of Greek ancestry. I have always wanted to go back to Greece but commitments to family and friends keep me here. My main reason for wanting to leave is due to a life long dislike for Oligarchial systems. Which led me to writing or start writing several books on the subject. But I haven't yet published them because I am not sure if I want to finish them or make them public.

So to help make up my mind I ask people I meet on the streets many questions. I ask strangers and friends about their ideas. My books are philosophical books and to write a proper philosophy you need more than just some old philosophy books. A proper philosophy takes into account everyone's opinion. An elitist approach of quoting only published authors is not how ancient Greeks and I work.

So to add to my notes of popular opinions and in some cases philosophical minded people, I sometimes read forums. Since I noticed the forums attract people from within the Anglo Sphere, I wanted to find out more about how they think.

Sure I lived in Australia all my life but never really found any Aussie willing to discuss real issues. I have some NZ friends who in contrast love to talk about their ideas and we share them often. So as a way of reaching out and not knocking on people's doors I thought why not try some forums.

Go for it.

One question though, you have a dislike of Oligarchial Systems in Australia & as a result of that you'd like to go back to Greece.

Only recently, Greece was governed by an unelected Oligarch (from the ECB) with the sole purpose of transferring Greek assets out of Greece & pushing through austerity laws. Out of curiosity, how does Australia possibly compare with Greece in this regard?

Why don't you try your luck and move to Greece? If something goes wrong you can always come back here...

Ha! Having Greek genes doesn't necessary makes you a philosopher. I'm part Brazilian but I suck at samba....

People should not be afraid of their governments. Governments should be afraid of their people.

We are told to remember the idea, not the man. Because a man can fail. He can be killed and forgotten. But four hundred years later an idea can still change the world.
