Hi there!

I am Teun and, of course, new to this interesting forum!

I live in a small town in the Netherlands and I am 27 years old. The reason for joining this forum is, because my girlfriend had a little surprise for me, she is going to leave to Australia! Whether I`ll join her or not!

Of course I would like to join her but my bank account will not allow me... So I am hoping to find interesting jobs in this beautifull country. And people who can help me with this. From the Netherlands there is little support, so hopefully this will be my gate to australia!

So, if you are willing to help me give advice or tips, you are more than welcome!

I have a decent job here in Holland, 3 years experience in sales. I am willing to take every decent job!

Thanks in advance and I hope to hear from you soon!!!

Welcome to the forum Tuen and sorry to leave you swinging for a bit, my own womanising issues etc.

But you can't blame a gal for wanting to travel a bit and no place better for sun sand and surf than Oz.

Is she doing a WHV - every young eligible person ought to for sure if you are prepared to gamble with throwing your job in and seeing what you can get in Oz - Visa Options - Working Holiday - Visas & Immigration

I think girls can sometimes get work in cities more easier than fellas but then it can depend on skills in normal times but as you'd realise with global economics, these ain't normal times - how safe is your current job for instance?

And whilst we've had a lot of people losing work around the cities, one thing is for sure and that's people will still want to eat and with our farmers getting on in years of average age, like 60+, there'll always be agricultural opportunities and that's what a WHV is really designed for and a great life roaming the country, following the sun so to speak and in being eligible to get a second WHV, a few years with no winter and who'd be complaining?
www.jobsearch/harvesttrail.gov.au will give you an insight and all info at the immi link.

Get a cheap airfare via Airasia from London to the Gold Coast via KL and you'll be laughing, maybe even do some prawn boat work or Pearling [season just starting in Broome] and you can earn some reasonable money if not afraid of some hard work which can put some muscle on.

You might even decide it's too good to want to leave and so while here a while you may find an opportunity as the economy picks up [hopefully] to get a 457 visa or something that can lead to PR.

Yep, if she has a mind to go and she 'll be happy for you to do likewise, could be worse things that can happen in life.

You'll find a bit about Oz in some of our travel posts but feel free to ask on anything.
