Smile Hello!

Hi, everyone!

I've been busy browsing this forum pretty much all day every day for a good week now, so I figured that it was time to register, introduce myself, and finally interact some!

To start with, my name is Kara and I am lucky enough to reside in a beautiful city in regional Victoria. I came here searching for information on Work and Holiday and/or De facto visas - I am an Australian citizen who has been lucky enough to fall in love with an American. However, due to various circumstances we don't have the opportunity to apply for a potential marriage visa, or even for a De facto visa right from the beginning, as we have never lived together in the past. Together, we searched down many different avenues in multiple countries for ways in which we could start our life together, and after venturing down dozens of different roads, we decided that we would put our focus on a Work and Holiday visa, bring my partner (Haley) over here to work and stay in Australia for a year, and that we would take it all from there!

At the moment we are still very early in this whole process, we are double and triple checking everything as we consider everything that we will need to have ready on our respective sides of the world. Haley is currently working on getting her passport and after that we will apply for the work and holiday visa. Gods be good, if everything goes well we are planning to bring her over to Australia between March and August of 2014. Considering we have been talking, hoping, and praying for this for a couple of years now, we are both anxious to really get the ball rolling!

This forum has been an awesome source of inspiration, help, encouragement and has provided a lot of food for thought even in these early stages. For that I am very thankful and I look forward to spending more time browsing throughout this entire adventure. Hopefully, being a Victorian local, I can also help some of you who are in the process of moving to this beautiful country or state with any questions that you may have! I look forward to getting to know you all better.
