457 Visa Renew after expiration

I was on a 457 Visa, then left the country with my partner to go travelling. She is Australian, so the Spousal Visa is open to us but pretty expensive.

My question, can I apply for another 457 Sponsored Visa after my previous one has expired and I have left the country?

Any help greatly appreciated as we will be looking to come back to Australia soon and I dont know which options are available...
