Online Gaming Love

Hello All!

I am a 35yo recently separated (not yet divorced) Australian Citizen, Mother of 3, Photographer and as the title suggests online gamer.

I met the love of my life in January this year Gaming, ended my marriage in March and began a long distance relationship with my amazing South African in April. Still very early days for us clearly but when your heart knows it just knows.

Our first face to face meet up will be in September this year when I travel over there for 2 weeks. I even get to meet the parents - eeeep

Not yet sure what the future holds for us both but if it's immigration then clearly he will be the one coming here as it's not going to be possible for me to relocate with my kids.

Hopefully I'll be able to absorb as much information from all of you to make what looks to be a very long expensive complicated process a little less daunting.
I may not have any useful knowledge on immigration but I do have a wealth of knowledge on living up and down the east coast of Australia that I am more than happy to share.

I look forward to getting to know you all and share in your journeys

xox

Well met, fellow gamer! I'm an American, and met my Australian partner through Eve Online.

My prospective visa hasn't been granted yet, but one bit of advice I'd give you is, save everything! Logs of conversations you've had regarding household duties and divisions of responsibilities, receipts for your engagement ring, boarding passes, and take lots of pictures together and with each other's family. You're trying to demonstrate that you're in it for the long-term. Receipts to show you're buying furniture and for his clothes, wills or insurances showing each other is beneficiary, anything you can think of.

Using an agent is the preferred way to get it done right, but obviously the cost is prohibitive for many couples. Good luck!
