Hello,

Justin is an American hoping to start a new life with his Aussie lady in Australia. We are looking at the path of the subclass 300 visa and are keen to talk with others who have the experience of gaining a partner visa down this route.

Looking forward to hearing from couples specifically with United States citizens in their mix.

My partner ( US Citizen ) and I ( Aus ) lodged PMV 300 in Nov 2016 via Australian immi agent... All paperwork submitted, Police checks and medicals done.. No news until 17 Aug 2017 when Case Officer assigned asking for new NOIM with a new date... We have 28 days to supply requested info... Be prepared for a long wait and no communication..xx

PMV US to Oz

Hi Justin yes from what I've found online it looks like it's going to be a long wait. I'm in the US and my fiance is an Aussie in Sydney. We applied for the PMV at the end of June 2017 and it's only been a few months so I'm not really expecting to hear anything anytime soon. One question I did have which may have just been answered in the thread is that if our wedding is scheduled for April of 2018 and the visa hasn't gone through yet will we have to postpone the wedding? I'm thinking at this point that we should at least have a 2nd tentative date in mind. It's tricky because you have 9 months to get married once approved but you can't set the date too far in advance because you'll risk being out of the 9 month timeframe for getting married. I'll keep the forum updated.

Best

Yes you may need to revise your date.. our wedding was scheduled for December 2016 and we have only 2 weeks ago been assigned a case officer...it's very tricky as you say with the 9 month time frame... Best change it to around Aug or Sept 18.. you can always revise once visa is granted... Keep us posted on how things are going. X

I'm an American citizen as well, and my fiance is Australian. We applied for a prospective marriage visa subclass 300 in March 2017 and still have not heard anything back. How are things going for you
