Hello :-)

Hi everybody,

My husband is Australian and we have been living in Denmark for the last few years - now looking at moving back to Australia....so reading the different post and excperiences with interest....

I spent quite a few years in Australia many years ago (as a student...) so not completely new to the country :-)

Welcome : )
whatever you do , start with your immigration application as soon as possible
speak to an immigration agent because the wait to get the visa can be stressing.

Thank you....yes - I think starting it asap is probably a good idea (after having seen the processing times :-)) Trying to figure out which way is best to go - via Berlin or in Australia.

Can I ask you whats the advantage having an immigration agent? (sorry - concept is not familiar here as I am not sure we have that in Denmark. When my husband went through the proces here we did it on our own)

You have two options, the onshore application 820/801 visa if you apply while both in Australia, or the 309/100 offshore, if you apply while outside Australia, Denmark in your case.
Either way you can do it all online.

The 309 seems faster, but the 820 means you are already here, no waiting to arrive.

An Immigration agent can point you in the right direction each time, but someone who has done it before, may well be able to do it themselves.

How long have you been married and living together? This can determine if you go direct to the Permanent Visa 100 or 801.

Many people bring their partner for a visit, to see if they like it, and then apply for a Partner visa, after seeing if they want to stay.

Visa Route: 600/300/600/820/801
PMV to PR 44 months.

In my case , I have applied for Visa subclass 300 " Prospective marriage visa " in many cases it get granted faster than any other spouse visa " well at least i hope so "

The Fiance visa allows your fiance to come to Australia with the 9 month period to get married , the reason it is faster i guess that the applicant is coming as a visitor until he/she gets married so they wont have medicare , cannot get money of the gov and if he/she did not get married they have to leave after that 9 months.

the good thing about this visa is the timing , cause most cases it will be granted from 4 to 9 months

now i regards to getting an immigration agent , well I do believe that could make things faster , specially when Agents have already built a rapport with Case officers and they are used to his way of applications.

immigration agent is good to have.

I hope everything goes fine with you and please keep us posted on here to when you have lodged your application and follow through the process just to help other people on here to release the stress they have waiting by reading other people's experience.
