Planning to apply for permanent residency visa

My husband and I, together with our children, are planning to migrate to Australia. Problem is, we have a daughter who is hearing impaired. She was diagnosed as having severe hearing loss on her left ear and profound hearing loss on her right ear when she was born. She is now 12 years old. She is using hearing aids and did not have cochlear implants. She is benefiting from her hearing aids and can communicate well using English language, she can even say sentences in our own dialect. She can also cope very well in her Chinese class. She has been mainstreamed or is part of a regular classroom setting since the age of three. There is no problem communicating with her even without her hearing aids as she can also do lip reading.
The cost of applying for permanent residency visa is so high, and we are not willing to gamble away our life savings if there is a very slim chance for us of getting the PR visa because of her impairment.
My question is, has anyone with similar conditions as us ever been granted PR visa?

The medical part is about whether a condition is going to result in significant healthcare costs to the Australian system, with a threshold of $40k over a five year period. More than that and expect to fail.

This might be an interesting read for you, Page 15 in particular.

If you're really concerned about it, there are plenty of recommended RMAs that have experience in medical cases. I have heard that George Lombard and Peter Bollard are the experts when it comes to potential medical issues and presenting your application the best way under the circumstances, or applying for medical waivers if necessary.

Best of luck to you and your family!

Dear Skybluebrew

Thank you for your reply. Ampk also told me the same, that George Lombard and Peter Bollard might be able to help me with our case. Would you know of how I could possibly be able to contact them? I am currently still living in the Philippines.

Just Google search each name individually and it'll bring up their websites. These days, agents can work with people from anywhere in the world with email, phone calls or Skype chats.
