I am not sure if either way is faster, there are many self done applications with fast times and many also done via immigration agents.

There are however more rejections for applications that are self done.

The main reason is that many people don't know how to do it properly, but an agent will not lodge until they feel everything is correct.

When we do it DIY, we lodge and hope for the best. I think the info on this forum does help a lot of us though, to be a bit better informed than many.

For an agent: Better advice and a better chance of a grant.
Against an agent: It costs money.

These Migration Agents help on the forum at times: https://www.australiaforum.com/visas...on-agents.html

Depends on the agent really. I have heard horror stories from people on here with cheap or inexperienced or even fake agents.

Pros and cons to both. A lot of it depends on the situation as well as some are straightforward and others more complicated.

If you used an RMA, verify that they are actually registered through MARA and as a tip, the first two digits of their registration number is the year they were first registered. Gives you an idea of the ones that have been in the game a while and have plenty of experience dealing with all sorts of cases.

As far as speed goes, it doesn't matter if you use an agent or not. It's not like they have their own queue. That being said, if you use a decent agent and everything is organized and not missing anything, that can save you in delays from further requests for information. But someone can put together a great app without one as well if they're capable.

I agree with that. I have heard great reviews from those that have used the RMAs that comment here.

I'd say do it yourself if you have the know how and are confident of finding all the information and documents yourself.

The advantage of going through an agent is applications are their bread & butter. So they'd have wealth of knowledge of what to do and what not to.
Having said there are plenty of agents with hardly any experience or knowledge of the migration law or process.
So if you are going to latter way, do your research and get some info on the agent before you pay any money or make a commitment.
